Dad's Sandwich Shop (Sacramento)
Dad's is an amazing sandwich shop located in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Located on 13th and S street this place serves up amazing food, amazing people and an amazing atmosphere. Now you may be wondering why this place is so "amazing", and the answer lies with a visit to this small bright-blue painted deli. As you enter Dad's you're greeted with a gigantic list of sandwiches and salads to order from. (This list takes up an entire wall!) Sandwiches include delectable treats such as "the Angry Road Man" consisting of mushrooms, turkey and numerous other goodies, and the "Bikini Kill" sandwich. After choosing a cleverly named sandwich (or a tasty "Kitchen Sink" salad) you'll be greeted by the extremely friendly family and which owns the store. After one or two visits they're sure to remember your name... and even what you order regularly! (Myself its an Angry Road Man, no onions and a bag of chips) The sandwiches are about $7 on average, but are the best sandwiches around! After eating just one you'll be hooked. No wonder the place has so many regular customers, and has a lunch-rush that lasts several hours. While the lines may be long, you get your food in a very quick manner- and its definately worth the wait! If you come in early you'll be able to get a sandwich off the breakfast menu; but at any time of day you have a wide variety of sodas and chips to choose from. (including They even have a daily soup, and occasional special sandwiches that are around for a limited time! And you can't forget the great cookies that are avaliable as well. Once you're hooked on the sandwiches you can sign up to be a regular- call in your order and it goes on your tab, and you can walk right up and claim your sandwich. No more waiting in line! Their food is so delicious they're opening a full restraunt later this year, which will no doubt be as amazing as their deli (which will remain open and family run.) So the next time that you venture into the maze that is Sacramento be sure to make time to stop by and eat at this deli, you'll fall in love after the first bite. |
